DESETINEC

During feudalism, “desetinec” was used to collect church tithes, which the serfs had to give to the church from their annual crops. Today, religious paintings and sculptures from the former Vrbnik churches and chapels are preserved here along with the artefacts from the archaeological collection of the Vrbnik parish priest Nikola Butković, who searched for prehistoric remnants in the area surrounding Vrbnik, such as stone axes, knives and small ceramics from the Stone Age and Illyrian metal jewellery.
